Pregiato Mappamondo composto da globo in carta realizzato con 12 spicchi stampati ed incollati a mano. Il mappamondo presenta una base in legno ed un supporto realizzato in bronzo. Il nome del mappamondo è un riferimento alla dimora preferita dalla Regina Maria Antonietta. Pare che sia stata una grande amante dei mappamondi e ne possedesse uno simile nella sua residenza.
Gilles de Vagoundy e suo figlio Didier Robert furono i cartografi ufficiali durante il regno di Francia. Didier de Vagoundy, nello specifico, fu il geografo di Luigi XV e realizzò mappamondi di varie dimensioni, il più grande ebbe un diametro di 2,6 m.
